Attorney Profile

Mr. Slough is an accomplished attorney and business executive who possesses a unique combination of experience in law, sports, banking, finance and entrepreneurship. As the former CEO of a privately held company and a commercial banking Vice President, Mr. Slough is imminently qualified to advise companies, their owners, and management teams on a wide variety of business and legal issues. As a business attorney, Mr. Slough’s law practice focuses on the drafting of a wide variety of agreements common to closely held businesses and start-ups with particular emphasis on business formation and organization, operating and partnership agreements, private placement memorandums, purchase and sale agreements, promissory notes, demand letters, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, strategic partner agreements and commercial banking transactions.

In addition to his work as a business attorney, Mr. Slough maintains an active national sports law practice representing college and professional coaches in matters related to their employment. Mr. Slough is a partner and general counsel with Coaches Resource Management, a sports agency dedicated to assisting coaches in the advancement of their professional careers. Mr. Slough began his career as a sports lawyer/agent in 1999 representing NFL players in their contract negotiations with NFL clubs.

Mr. Slough received his undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University and both his Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University. He began his law career at the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski (now Norton Rose Fulbright).

Mr. Slough is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Sports Lawyers Association. He belongs to the ABA Forums on Entertainment, Sports & Business Law and the DBA Sections on Bankruptcy & Commercial Law, Entertainment & Sports. Mr. Slough also served as a judge in the 2017 Tulane Law School Pro Football Negotiation Competion.

Mr. Slough was admitted to practice in Texas in 1997.
